Tony mentioned a while ago that his boss had purchased the open storefront next to his restaurant with the intention of opening a gaming store. Not so much a Source or Now and Then, more similar to a Gamestop. But, John is going to be in a meeting today about his recent acquisition (i.e., he just bought the franchise rights to the aforementioned restaurant, D.P. Dough), so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to talk to him about it. I know he wasn't planning on opening it until September or something, but jeesh, he's gotta need help setting it up and cleaning and whatnot, right? And I have some experience with gaming retail, but not much. I've been working some form of retail for years, so that has to count for something, right?

Cherry Raspberry Ale & Alan Wake
I've pretty much gotten everything opened up that needs to be opened, and packed away what needs to be packed. It's still ridiculous how humid everything is, and I think I'm getting an earache from it, which is kind of weird. In any case, it's Monday, the official beginning of the week, and I've got a plan!

Day One: White Catabwa & Humidity, Part Two!
Part Two, this time with a story!
The Desk & Chair Fiasco
Mom and I dragged the boxes for the computer chair and the desk all the way up those dang stairs. She unpacks the chair. I sit down to start putting it together. I have my Allen Wrench. I have my nuts and I have my cushions, casters, all that good stuff. Now, the casters and the base went together just fine. The gas lift tube thingy went in fine, the SEAT is what made me problems! So the instructions had it one way, and I had it the other, so I thought, hey, I'll just invert the instructions. Well, I didn't. Took me about five minutes to realize that the screws were in the wrong holes and NO, they aren't all the same! Well, dang, son.

Day One: White Catabwa & Humidity
So it's been most of the first day flying solo in Troy, NY, and I've discovered a few things about my moving out here, the first one being: dang, I really, really brought a lot of stuff. On that same token, if I had maybe another 6 inches to the room, I wouldn't feel like I had said problem. But, whatever. I'm still moving things around. Second thing: having plants to take care of is really reassuring! I have a golden something-or-other and a bamboo plant, they sit by the window and suck up sunlight and water. D'aww, I'm being responsible!
Ain't that a shocker.
